Basically was told the same thing, it was from the US Government, I then said that's odd as I work for the US Government and we do not make these kind of calls. The gentleman got tongue tied and twisted when I told him he was on a recorded line.

I am so sick of these calls. These people hang up on me when I ask them to take me off their calling list and I tell them is a scam. They keep telling me that I am under investigation and that I am being sued the fun never ends

Received a call that the government was awarding me a $9000 grant. Before she had a chance to finish, I told her she could have it and hung up. These calls are getting out of control! This is not the first call I received. The other call came from a NY number and the city was awarding me a grant of $9700. I was told to call 202-854-0965 and speak to account manager, Steven Rose. I wanted to see how far they would go, so I called the number. They wanted me to go to my local CVS and purchase an ITunes card because they needed the number off the card to transfer my funds. After giving them a piece of my mind, I hung up! These scammers think because they are calling from a DC area code, we think that they are legit. By the way, why do all of these callers have a foreign accent?

Get calls from this number almost everyday. Most of the times, if there is no recording, the live person has a very thick accent (Nigerian??). Today I got a different call from 415-220-6729, a weird woman (sounds like she was on drugs from the way she spoke...) making very ominous threats, that I should not ignore this call and my lawyer needs to call them, as this is a serious matter I am accused of...

Caller said she was from IRS I owed over 25,000.00 she proceeded to as me for my account number she was told no and stop calling she called back and stated they will hack my account. What the hell these people are out of control. Two hours later a man calls from same company offering 9,000.00 to cleat up IRS but needed my account to do it so I told him to call me back on this number 8562284500 I would be happy to help no call back to me but he called the police station number... lol hopefully they get the message.

Caller told me I had been awarded a $9000 grant from federal government because I paid my taxes and bills on time and had never filed for bankruptcy.

This call came to me via my personal AT&T cell phone and was noted as Washington, DC on my caller ID. I've seen the number numerous times and decided to pick it up this time (I was hoping it was Obama....I would love to talk to him). It was a woman however and she was pleasant, but a little hard to understand because of her Asian accent. She said I qualified for a $9000 governmental grant because I pay my bills on time and have no criminal record. Weird criteria/qualifications for a government grant and the fact that I have never applied for a grant. I am however a MA state employee. They told me to call 202-813-0115 to speak with an Acct Mgr and use grant #CM764 to complete the process. Sounds like a new age scam to me. If they call again to "follow-up on my grant application process" I think I'm going to have some fun with them and let them know that the call is being recorded, provide them with my attorney's name and number and a case log number with no less than 100 alpha-numeric digits long, ask them to hold please while I pull up my grant application on my computer, and ask them to provide me with their bank account information so I can have them transfer the funds directly to my offshore bank account. Stay tuned for another post.......
