However, life is full of surprises therefore some of these people may suddenly disappear from our sight. People move, change work, change address etc.
After some time we realize that we want to reconnect with our old friends and relatives. Even though there is the Internet and modern communications it might not be an easy task. What you could find there is a name, phone number and possibly an address. Well the address, if you have it, may not be valid anymore. Sure you can try a search by name. We are at the age where almost everybody has a profile on some social network. First and last name may not be very useful though even with the booming social networks. However, more than one person could use the name you are looking for. You may end up facing hundreds of names matching with the name of your friend. Even though you have the first and last name and location, there is a possibility that you will find more than one matching profile. Moreover, location which you have, could be outdated and there is a possibility that your friend changed his location and your information is no longer valid. Be aware also of the fact that if you are looking for a woman she could marry and changed her name. If the profile of the person contains address you can use yellow pages and search for a number, then you can make a call to find out if he/her is still living there. An option is to visit the place of address and find out personally if your friend is still living there, but be aware of the fact that there could be a new resident. In which case you should be polite and leave the place without hesitation. Same apply when you try friend's phone number. Call the number, introduce yourself, ask for the name you are looking for. If there is no person with such name, be polite and hang up without further hesitation.The most reliable piece of information in your records might be person's phone number. The reason being that people prefer to keep their phone number rather changing it in order to avoid the hassle of informing each of their friends of a new number.
